Terms of Service

Welcome to MetaScout TCG. By downloading, installing, or using the MetaScout mobile application or website (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use MetaScout. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

2. Account Registration

Some features require an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or networks
• Circumvent rate limits, authentication, or other security measures
• Upload malicious content, including images designed to exploit the AI scanning service
• Scrape, harvest, or collect data from the Service by automated means
• Impersonate another user or misrepresent your identity
• Use the Service to facilitate counterfeit card sales

4. The Service

MetaScout provides AI-powered trading card identification, collection management, price lookups, and related tools. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice.

Free features may be subject to usage limits. Premium features require an active subscription.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

MetaScout offers optional paid subscriptions that unlock additional features and higher usage limits. Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and are subject to the respective store's terms and conditions.

• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period
• You can manage or cancel your subscription through your device's app store settings
• No refunds are provided for partial billing periods
• Prices may vary by region and are subject to change with notice

6. Account Sharing

Your account is for your personal use only. You may not share your login credentials with others. We monitor login activity (IP addresses, device types) to detect unauthorized account sharing. If we detect that an account is being shared, we may:

• Limit the number of concurrent sessions
• Temporarily suspend the account
• Terminate the account for repeated violations

7. AI Card Identification

Card identification is provided on a best-effort basis using AI vision technology. Results may be inaccurate. MetaScout does not guarantee the correctness of any card identification, price estimate, authenticity assessment, or game strategy recommendation. You should independently verify any information before making purchasing, selling, or trading decisions.

8. Price Data and Market Information

Price data is sourced from third-party services and marketplaces. Prices are indicative only and may not reflect actual sale prices. MetaScout is not a marketplace, broker, or financial advisor. We are not responsible for any financial loss resulting from reliance on price data shown in the app.

Some marketplace links may be affiliate links. If you make a purchase through these links, MetaScout may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.

9. Intellectual Property

The MetaScout name, logo, and application code are the property of MetaScout TCG. All trading card names, images, and trademarks belong to their respective owners (The Pokemon Company, Wizards of the Coast, Konami, Bandai, etc.). MetaScout is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any trading card game publisher.

Your collection data belongs to you. You retain ownership of any data you input into the Service.

10. User Content

By uploading images to the Service for card scanning, you grant MetaScout a limited, non-exclusive license to process those images solely for the purpose of providing the scanning service. Images are processed in real-time and are not permanently stored.

11. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Upon deletion, your synced collection data, deck data, and account information will be permanently removed from our servers. Locally stored data on your device is not affected by account deletion.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, METASCOUT TCG SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $50, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MetaScout TCG, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

15. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via the app or email. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
